For over 49 years, Jones and Roberts, has been helping clients construct healthy and functional spaces.  Since 1965 we have grown from two small Tacoma, Washington companies into a leading regional construction firm recognized for our quality, integrity and reliability.  Our long term perspective is to build value for both the client and the community.

HISTORY

Jones and Roberts Company was established in 1965 as a joint venture between Frank Roberts, of Concrete Construction Company, and Lewis Jones Sr., of Dolph Jones Construction Company.  As a joint venture their first project was for Tacoma City Light.  The project consisted of building concrete spillways for Mayfield Dam in Lewis County.  The work had to be done when the water behind the dam was low.  The project lasted 6 months from spring until fall and the crews worked 7 days a week 24 hours a day.  Some water had to be released by the dam during construction and that water was diverted through temporary spillways which were removed at the end of the project.

The second project, as a joint venture, was the construction of the new Oliver Hazen High School in Renton, Washington in 1967.  At that time, it was the largest high school in the state.

From the mid 1960’s to the present, Jones and Roberts Company has delivered a wide variety of construction work throughout Southwest Washington.  From humble beginnings to the present, we continue our proud tradition – providing high quality results for both our clients and our community.
